Why Do I Love to Write?
May 21, 2009
Since I was thirteen-years-old, I started to learn how to write my first poem called The Rainbow. It was when in eighth grade during the year 2005. I realized loving how to write poems. It took me four years to write poems until now I learned how to write stories when I was sixteen-years-old. It took me awhile to understand that it was just a hobby. Even though I always want to publish my first story called Lasting Love, I am not sure because I am not ready to edit it yet until later.
By the way, I truly love to write poetry anytime when I am in mood to write. I always express myself out of my heart while I write songs or any type of poems. When I think of the words, I always immediately get my laptop on and type the poetry (including haiku, blank verse, ballad, lyric, free verse, rhyme, and anything else) about how I feel out of my chest. I can’t always keep them inside, so that’s why I never stop writing poetry since I was thirteen years old.
I started to write stories last years when I was only fifteen or sixteen years old because Testriffic.com inspired me to write stories. I am glad I just started before I decided to take Creative Writing during that time. I kept to practice writing stories. I could see how my grammar went until now I still improve my writing skills. I began to write my first story Lasting Love with the filling of imaginations that always inspires me from the movies, the books, and everywhere in the real life.
There’s going to be always for lessons to learn about English everyday in my life since I came in United States of America from El Salvador at the age of nine. It wasn’t pretty much easy but I success and still improve everyday. I began loving English more than Spanish, but it’s always going to be my second language ever since Spanish is my top language for my family.
Everyday, I’ll never stop learning English because I learn that I am still going to prove to the hearing people wrong about our deaf culture. There are not a lot of people not to understand why the deaf people can’t write. Is it because of the way they sign without English? No, they can write only if they fully pay attention to what they want. Yes, it’s true but I am still learning English just like them.
