This just makes me SO MAD!
It pisses me off to no end when people say I'm not a REAL MCR fan because I don't write fan fic's about them.
Well I'm SORRY that I want to see my hero's in REAL life, instead of longing for something I know I'm not going to see. So to all of the people that tell me to stop being a poser: FUCK OFF.
I am a true fan of this band. I always will be. They kept me from killing myself.

Wow that is ridiculous. I'm a huge fan of MCR but haven't written any fanfictions bout them does that make me a fake fan. Hmm....I think NOT. I love alot of bands but does that make me any less of a fan just cause I don't write fanfictions about them. Hmm....NO. Real fans like bands cause they love their music. That's whats important. Just because you don't write fanfiction doesn't mean that you aren't a fan,it just means that you would rather write original stories & would rather meet you're heroes face to face then fake fantasies written on paper. Fake MCR fans only like them for their looks i.e teenies. I agree with you I would rather see my heroes IN PERSON then read about events that WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Don't get me wrong some fanfics are written really well but I like original stories. Its quite sad that people have said that to you =/ Don't listen to them.

There are a lot of bands/singers that I’m a huge fan of (Dallas Green aka City and Colour for example) and I don’t write about them because I look up to them too much… which does not make me any less of a fan! >:(

People think you're not a real fan because you don't write fanfics? That's kind of ridiculous. I don't write fanfics about anyone; it doesn't make me less of a fan of the bands/singers that I like. Geez. I'm actually not an MCR fan, though. I hear a lot of peopl say "they stopped me from killing myself," but I just really am not touched, inspired, or any such thing when I hear a song by them. *shrugs* To each their own, right? And it's good that you didn't kill yourself. =)

Who said that? Seriously, not writing fanfiction doesn't make you less of a fan. Just like writing fanfiction doesn't actually mean you are a fan... Fanfiction is something people write and read because it's fun. It doesn't define anything. And anyone who thinks it does is an idiot.

I know exactly how you feel.
I only write TH fanfics because I love to write, and writing for them is one of the greatest things I can do, because my passion is writing, and they're important to me. Really important.
But yeah, you don't have to write a fanfic to be a real fan. I'm a fan of Hawk Nelson, but I've never written a fanfic about them.
