THE SCANDEL! <~ I know, it's spelled wrong. Whoopie!

So, word on the street is someone wrote a fanfiction on the Holocaust, and some people had issues with it. Now, while I wait for this stupid XBox controller to sync so I can finish playing Left for Dead, I am going to give you all my take on the situation.

Now, as most of you guys know, I am a supporter of well-written fan-fiction. Note, I said well-written, mainly because I found Fanfiction to be a great place to start for writers trying to find their niche. As you know, I mostly stick to Frerard, and have had many sucesses with that pairing, which lead me to writing original, eventually. I am also a supporter of Incest because, well, why not? I don't have to read it, right? So, if you want to write about Mikey and Gerard, Tom and Bill, Benji and Joel, sexing it up in the back of their tour bus, then, well go ahead. But, can we please keep it out of a concentration camp?

Now, I bet some of you are like "But Jenni, you sexy beast, why shouldn't someone set their story durign the Holocaust? It's creative freedom!" And you maybe somewhat correct, however, the question is "Do we REALLY need an incest Tokio Hotel story taking place during the Holocaust?" The answer is a big, fat, No.

Why? Because, the Holocaust is probably one of the worse examples of human evil ever witnessed in the 20th century- no- ever. 6 million people, dead. That's almost the enter city of New York. And not just killed, not killed during battle. No. These innocent people were tortured, starved, gassed, and face inexplainable horrors that I can't even think about it. And not just jews, but Homosexual gypsies, and Non-Germans also faced these wraths at the hands of fellow humans, fellow COUNTRY-MEN. Do we really want to associate this era with romance? Should the Holocaust be Romanticized? Once again, no.

Now, I do not believe a story about a guard falling in love with a prisoner, or visa versa, couldn't be written. I just doubt anyone on Mibba has the writing talent or knowledge of that time period to excecute it. Even me. I was pondering this in the kitchen just now, and not even I could come up with something remotely good. I don't doubt that there was a case were prisoner's exibited signs of Stolkholm Syndrome and began to sympathized and, perhaps, even fall in love with their captures- but I never heard of one. Which means, there a 90% chance there is no information on it happening, which means if a writer wants to excecute something as delicate as Stolkholm Syndrome during the Holocaust, he/she would have no were to start. No information to study form. So chances are his/her depiction of the event would be cheapen. Sorry, but true.

Not to mention, Nazi Soldier's weren't exactly the nicest people to their prisoners. I think one story where I head of a guard being nice was in the memoir FOur Perfect Pebbles, where one gave the narrator an apple to eat because she was starving. But, seriously, that was like the only time. They also used their homosexual captures as sex slaves, and would beat them and rape them. Not really very romantic if you ask me.

I blame the schools, though, for this. Why? Because no one really mentions the Holocaust anymore. In all my years of schooling, the only time it was ever really taught to me was in my Sophmore Global History class when we did the unit on Germany. Our teacher showed us a tape of the British Soldiers entering a concentration camp, and the people they found....were just skeletons. It was horrible. It was sad. And what is even sadder is that's was just one our of two times I really saw the Holocaust for the horror that it was.

It is not something to be romantized. It is not something that should be tainted by fanfiction. I'm sorry, and this is coming from a supporter of fanfiction.

To the author, she can write what she wants. It's her choice, and in her defense, I didn't read the story completely. Just the first chapter. And that was all I could read.

The moral of this journal is, girls and fake boys: Write what you know.

PS: if their was any misspelled words here, I don't care. I'm tired and trying to play a video game while I write this. -_-
