So, I finally got around to Spider-Man 3...
So, My first Mibba journal, and it goes to Peter Parker [Or well.... James Franco]. Since, I don't really know what qualifies for a journal... Is this good? Tell me if its not. I'll probably waste more than one journal on my movie reviews.
But anyway,
Its not as good as I remember the other two being. I don't know if the fault gets pushed onto the fact that MaryJane just annoys the hell out of me for most of the movie, or if Peter Parker himself wins for making me practically choke on my own laughter. Really? Peter Parker is not a cool guy, and he should never try to be cool. Dancing in public, as if you're really dancing to music, is not cool. You just look like a psycho sonofabitch. Wouldn't he guess from the looks of the women around him?
And another thing; Why can't MaryJane just be happy for Peter? Why does she have to be as big as him, in a whole different way? She didn't get bitten by the radio-active spider; she's not special. And she doesn't have a good enough voice to be on Broadway. Get over it. Hell, she should feel special enough getting loved by Spiderman. And I mean, What a bitch! Refusing his proposal, and never giving him the time to speak? Geeze. I don't think I could handle being either man nor lesbian with woman who can like that.
One more thing; a major thing. Peter Parker is way too chipper to take on the role of bad ass venom. His tough-guy attitude didn't carry well. And plus, when he got super angry and mad? Did anybody notice that he looked sorta like a turtle? I did. It sort of ruined the mood, when I was laughing through about half the movie? It was no longer action, it was comedy.
This:

Thats just.... I don't even know. Wrong? He's got such baby-doe eyes to play a mean character. It doesn't suit him.
I must say though, James Franco [The only name that really stands out to me in the entire cast] makes up for Peter Parker's lame emo-ness. All that boy has to do is smile, and it makes the movie just the little bit better to keep watching it. Its sad they had to kill him off, even if he was sort of a psycho path. :[
But really, he's hot. :]

Maybe not Sonny Moore or Frank Iero hot, but he's got a pretty good smile on him.
Feel free to share:

@Gurren: [I keep doing this so I don't loose you in other people's comments, if they wanna post. Even if its a bit weird.] Is there anyway to not download? My computers looking for any excuse to shut down on me, and I think downloading could be the worst thing possible for it. :/ But I would actually love some help finding V for Vendetta scans. The furthest my research goes is google because I'm a sissy about viruses and such, even if you can't really get them from just searching? Its just a phobia I guess. Or something.
&& Ramble on, I don't mind. Its actually helpful. I'm more toward the leaving high school stage, so I am serious about a job. I need money! I'm just a bit of a sketch when it comes to applying. I think I answer everything too honestly, and they're looking for somebody with unrealistic positive opinions? I dunno. I might take up doing a resume for myself though, even if there's not much to write. +Thanks! :D

torturedbarbie: I know what you mean. Movie Mary Jane is...the average DID, it seems like I can understand her selfishness, but it does get in the way a lot.
If you'd like, I can track one of the sites down? I tend to buy things, or I
rented them...but I'm sure there are sites. I, personally, use torrents. I was able to download the whole Dark Reigh storyline/crossover from Marvel through torrents, but if you don't like BT, I'll look up a site. Just name the series you want.
My advice would be to not just sell yourself as a comic-book/animemanga-fan if you apply and get to the intervie stage. The place I worked loved having people with interest in the merchandise/stock, or who were just as interested to get into it...but, you alsodon't want to come off as a person who only sees it as an excuse to hang around the stuff. The manager always got annoyed because there'd be kids barely in high-school walking in and wanting an application, and you could tell that they weren't too serious about getting A job, but getting THAT job. After a while, they stopped offering applications and just started asking for resumes. "We'll call you"-type thing, because they could tell just from the resumes not only who was qualified...but who was actually serious about what they were doing. =P
So, that ramble's done. But, sell yourseld on how you're willing to work, not just on the interest-level.
Ramble done.

@ Gurren: Okay, I like that MJ loves him and all, even though he's a super hero, but she seems kind of childish in the movies! Its annoying! Spiderman has enough problems, with people trying to kill him or cause mayhem in his city, daily.
&& Damn! Do you have all those?! Or is there like a site online that scans them? I mean, I read manga from a site where they scan page by page... it'd be awesome if they had it for comics.
Also. I WANT A JOB AT A COMIC STORE. NO FAIR. Dx
I'm at that ripe age, where I'm looking for my first job, so nobody wants to hire me. I almost don't want to go to the comic book store thats not that far from my house.. Its like, the only one that I know of thats around, and I don't wanna be rejected. But I could see myself reading more than anything if I worked there... And its hard when you haven't read comics before hand, isn't it? D:
torturedbarbie, July 10th, 2009 at 09:19:15pm
MJ coming back is a good thing, imo. In the cmoics, they had her leave Peter for a bit. All Stan Lee asked for when he handed over the series was that Mary Jane and Peter stay together, and Mary Jane stay a part of Peter's life. It was an important thing to him.
The comics took that away not long later. Go figure. I like MJ and what she is for Peter - I don't like the interpratation of her.
Watchmen isn't my thing. It's hard for me to get into some of the Indies titles, or Vertigo. Lucifer is good; DMZ is good; 100 bullets isn't bad. I like WitchBlade, but...mehh. Same for Batman; there are parts I like, and other parts that are just...mehh. Battle of the Cowl right now is...interesting, though sort of getting too far out there. V for Vandetta was just great.
Yeh. Spider-Man 4. Supposedly, they got a writer from Supernatural on it. There's still a lot to do with it; not a lot that will interest a general crowd, imo, but enough to keep this going longer than it ever needs to.
My biggest obsession right now is Green Lantern. Blackest Night is starting next week. It's going to be so f*cking awesome. DC's big summer special. >3;
The movie will kill everything. Justin Timberlake wants to be Hal Jordan.
I don't have lots of money, but all my spare goes to comics and gaming. /loser
I worked at a comic book store as a temp., and I'm applying again - I got free rentals for any book or DVD. It really let me catch up on things, and the emloloyee discount hasn't been revoked, so that saves me a good $30 a visit.
Obviously, I'm a major comic book nerd. >_<
Kamina, July 10th, 2009 at 09:11:27pm
@shiznit: YES! Thank you! Did you not want to smack her when Peter was trying to comfort her about the review, saying he got bad reviews all the time and she's like "This is about me, Peter". So dumbbbbbb. I wish I could have crawled into the Tv.
&& Have to agree with the melodrama and overdone-ness. Peter seemed like he was pretty much injected with sunshine at the beginning of the movie. I don't remember him being quite so.... uber happy in the others. Maybe thats why he sort of annoyed me in this one?
torturedbarbie, July 10th, 2009 at 08:58:54pm
I didn't like the third one. It seemed way to overdone and melodramatic. And MJ annoys the living hell out of me.
Shiznit, July 10th, 2009 at 08:55:45pm
@ Gurren: They think they can pull of a fourth?! They butchered the third! Peter Parker has nowehere to go. He already avenged his Grandpa, and he's got MJ back [sadly]. I think comic books should stay amazing as comic books.... or even saturday morning cartoons, old school style.
@Blood-shot-Smile: Ah moneyy... the only thing that really stops me from being the hermit I want to be. I can't even afford reading materials!
Ahhhh. I loved V for Vendetta as a movie. It was AMAZING. Seriously. To think that it was a comic first, that just makes me want to rob someone for the money to buy it. Haha
torturedbarbie, July 10th, 2009 at 08:53:34pm
Yeah, I've read clips but not full comics, I still need to get one (But first i need some F****** money...)
In my opinion, they aren't the best.
I'd go for: V for Vendetta, Watchmen, or Batman
Benjamin Barker, July 10th, 2009 at 08:45:39pm
To be honest, any movie-adaption of a Marvel comic tends to make me hurt. I jusst gave up after a while. I was going to see Wolverine, but I didn't get the chance.
Now, I don't want to. I saw the Spider-Man movies, and it really makes me facepalm whenever I see a poster. >_>
Curious what the fourth is about. It's in production.
Kamina, July 10th, 2009 at 08:45:08pm
That part was pretty brutal. I mean, you kinda have to believe that your friend wouldn't kill your father if it wasn't for a good reason... He was a bit over the top.
And are the comics any good? I was thinking about getting into comic books when I get a bit of money. My mom refuses to give me money for that sort of thing, and none of my friends are comic book fiends. I gotta start on my own.
torturedbarbie, July 10th, 2009 at 08:42:24pm
I started crying at the cinemas...I hated seeing peter and his friend fight like that.
And yes, Mary-Jane can be squite annoying,
ah, well, I'm a comic book Nerd, i love the spidey!
Benjamin Barker, July 10th, 2009 at 08:37:26pm
I agree! I agree! I mean, when you think you're cool and bad ass you don't go dancing through the streets like some sleezy pimp. You hang out in bars, waiting to pick up a few fights! I would have loved to see Peter go kick-ass on some rowdy drunkards. Probably sould have been Waaayyyyy better than him dancing.
And I wish I hadn't seen it either. I built up too much anticipation bringing it home.
I'm almost let down.
torturedbarbie, July 10th, 2009 at 08:34:55pm
I almost wish I hadn't seen it. I mean, I know Peter Parker is meant to be a bit of a comedic-relief, but the dance-number just lost me. It was because Peter Parker thought he was cool, and was trying to be a bad-ass.
I did not compute.
Peter Parker is cool in his own way, and I'm almost positive he'd not only laugh at what he was being in the movie...but would also probably be very embarrassed for himself.
No amount of alien-venom could bring him to...that.
