Rants
#1) Topic? Disney thinking all of their stars can sing. Ex. 1: High School Musical. After the first movie, Disney offers all 6 of them record deals. Like, WHAT?! I don't get it. And, excuse me, but Zac didn't even do all of his singing in the first movie. Drew Seeley did the other half and did HE get offered a record deal? Not to my knowledge. Ex 2: Camp Rock. Alright, so, the Jonas Brothers already had a record deal, but Demi? She didn't. And she got offered one after Camp Rock, when, in reality, she only sang, what, 2 songs, 3 including We Rock? I don't understand the logic behind this. At all. Ex. 3: Hannah Montana. Like in Camp Rock, Miley already had a record deal, but now, all of a sudden, Mitchel and Emily have one? Like, what? Now this is only my opinion, but Emily's not the greatest singer out there, and Mitchel's not so bad, but seriously? It's like Disney has this warped idea in their head that makes them think that since all of their actors can act and everybody loves their acting, they know how to sing as well. And then the actors are all like, "Yeah! I'll take this!" because, hello, it IS a chance of a lifetime. But seriously, can all of these people REALLY sing well? No. Can they ACT well? YES. But there's a major difference between the two. I must say that all of the HSM cast and Miley do a pretty good job of doing both, but the rest, not so much.
#2) Topic? Stars that work for their fame. As much as I dislike Taylor, I must say that, like Kelly, she had to work for her fame. She went to many record labels and gave them her demos. And they all rejected her. Except for Big Machine Records. But that wasn't until after at LEAST 10 turn-downs. Now, not to bash Demi, but everything she's gotten has been handed to her on a silver platter. Disney gave her a record deal because of Camp Rock, and the Jonas Brothers gave her everything else. They made her HUGE because she went on tour with them. I just don't find it fair. Whereas, Selena, you can tell she's worked hard to get where she is. I mean, she was on Barney (with Demi, mind you) but after that you didn't hear anything about her until Wizards. And even now, she's not really THAT huge, you know? She's just so down to earth and she seems like she'd be my best friend. Even if Demi and I have more similar senses of fashion and music, I think Selena and I would get along much better. Whereas Demi, in my mind, isn't so down to earth. She still is, just not as much as Selena. I was listening to Radio Disney the other day and she was talking about how she got to work with John Mayer on her new album. And I was like, "DUDE! One year ago you were hardly anything. No one knew you except for from Camp Rock, which had only JUST debuted. And now, you're getting to work with John Mayer?" Once again, another thing that she got handed to her.
I know we all have our opinions, but I'm not here to fight with you guys. I would appreciate it if you didn't bash my opinions, because, quite honestly, they're just opinions and we're all entitled to our own (:

The first and foremost thing I just have to ask is, did John Mayer work with her willingly? It doesn't sound like him. He's a nice guy and all.. but come on. :/
I hate how there are so many underground artists out there who work hard and practically die for their music. They're down to Earth and very friendly people, referring to the ones I know and sometimes speak to. However, they get stamped out of fame and radio broadcasts because Disney can offer record labels and radio stations more money.

You know, I'm actually upset about the Disney record label deal.
Because of gaddam Disney, there's almost no room for any new music artists, especially in those genres. It's a fail.

Really, if anyone wants to become a singer, do a sh*tty job acting for Disney Channel, sing, and there you go. You're a famous singer now with a record deal and sold out concerts. (Y)
