Katsumi Tells All: Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince
I must say this is probably the review I was looking most forward to doing, this summer. I own all the other HP movies, so being able to review this just made my day.
Okay so now I have to tell you the cold honest truth, compared to some of my other reviews this one will probably be a little bit more serious then the others post I have made. I will also be talking about the controversy with Twilight and this movie.
So this movie like the others is still following Harry & Voldemort , its also set in a more darker them just like the last two movies before this one where, which brings me to my first question. What the hell happened, we went from this dark them to a dark comedy, why?
Being someone who has not read the books I can say, I didn’t expect a lot of what happened and I am still in the what the hell I didn’t see that coming shock. I think this movie was done rather well and I cant wait on the last one to come out.
But I really hope they decided to stop playing on the hormones of teens, yes the jokes where funny and most the stuff was true, but honestly who wants to keep seeing the same angsty stuff, three movies later?
So over all I have to say I enjoyed the movie but it had its flaws like the ending I mean like the whole last twenty minutes of it or so kind of pissed me off, by chance could someone who’s read the books explain this?
One flaw I think it had was the fighting and the ending seemed a little to rushed for me, like Warner bro’s wanted to end this movie so they just through in the ending not caring if it seemed rushed.
Before I go on any farther I have to say I have to commend J.K.R not refering to this one but to HPATOOTP, you may be wondering what for and well its quite simple, she's done what most authors don’t have the heart to do, (This includes me) she killed off a character, maybe even more then one who knows? And for that she has my greatest respect.
Okay so we all know of the rumor back when this movies was supposed to come out a couple weeks before Twilight, you know the one where everyone said that they pushed the date of this movie back to July 15th 09 for people in the US, because they was scared Twilight would make more money then this would.
Of course Warner Bro. reply to this was that they just decided to wait because they made a lot of money off of The Dark Knight (Batman) and where supposedly going to release HPATDH part 1 later on this year, but it would now seem that, that will not be what is to happen, the movie is now set to release some time in 2010 part two will follow in 2011.
So first I want to say why Warner Bro’s why? I was so looking forward to another movie this year. Any way I have to say who ever started the rumor I was referring to is out of there ever livening mind, I mean Twilight did well in my town it sold out two viewing rooms. But HP sold out six in only one movie place in my town, so you guys do the math, who do you think did better? But either way I think we should stop comparing them because they are two different (Sp?) movie Geners, even if they are both fantasy they are still very different. So thats my take on the whole thing back to the review.
OKAY FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER I WILL BE GIVING OUT SPOILER SO IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW DON’T READ PAST HERE INCASE I CANT GET IT TO BE IN WHITE WRITING. YOU HAVE BEEN WARRNED. (SP?)
Okay first of all this one really confused the shit out of me, I mean really what the hell is up with Ginny one minute she is dating that one guy the next she is all over Harry, and you never here about her breaking up with the other guy, just what kind of message is J.K trying to send with her?
The other thing that really gets me is who’s side is Snap on he did that one thing to that one person, and then he friken saves Harry, what is he bi-poler or is he just a nutcase?
SPOILERS ARE OVER IF YOU WANT TO READ ON.
Wow this is getting a lot longer then I though it would be. Moving on I liked the jokes they where pretty funny, and a lot of the stuff in the movie that was a joke, like the Love potion, thing that was great both ways it was done.
All in all I give this move an A you should all go see it its well worth the 2hr and like 45 minutes, I do think it could have been a little longer but still not bad.. Oh and I must report this might just be the first movie where Ron doesn’t say “Oh Bloody Hell.” anyway I have to say the acting was very good in this movie by everyone, but I really disliked the guy who played Dumbldor in this one, I think out of everyone his was probably the worst.

@realize, actually Snape killed Dumbledore because he asked him to, and he was dying anyway.

Okay, okay, I'm finding it really hard to take this review seriously when you can't spell the enemy's name right. It's Voldemort, for future reference.
Everything is much more... thrilling in the books. She's described it so well that the images are vivid, just in the novel itself.
And also, the reason Snape killed Dumbledore was because of the Unbreakable Vow, but before that, it was to do with the Deathly Hallows, which, is in the seventh book. The wand, basically.

Actually, the guy playing Dumbledore actually played his character right this time. For the other two movies he was so off as Dumbledore it made me cringe.
What exactly about the end confused you? I'll try and explain the best I can, Harry and Dumbledore go to get the horcrux because if they destroy it they're one step closer to destroying Voldemort. They get back to Hogwarts and it's under attack (well, in the books they got back and death eaters were already running around the place and some students were trying to fight them) then Draco comes and finds Dumbledore in the astronomy tower, Harry is hidden, but sees everything (in the books Harry is under the invisibility cloak and Dumbledore casts a spell on him so see can't move/interfere). Draco has been order by Voldemort to kill Dumbledore. If he doesn't, Voldemort will kill Draco. But Snape made an unbreakable vow to protect Draco no matter what, Draco can't carry out the task he was given so Snape has to kill Dumbledore, otherwise he'll die because of the vow.
In the book is was that you knew Dumbledore was dead for sure because Harry was sudden;ly free to move around, but they changed that in the movie. Harry runs after Snape because, well, Snape just killed dumbledore and he tries attacking Snape, but Snape simple deflects the spells... but doesn't fight back (make of that what you will) that's why Harry says 'Fight back you coward' the whole scene is much more intense in the book in my opinion.
And the very end is that obviously the three of them are going to go looking for the rest of the horcruxes... anyway, if your still confused, tell me specifically what and I'll try and explain it. Though reading the books may make it a little clearer (there's a lot more depth to the story as well, especially with Voldemort and that).
