Creativity, what happened to it?
Now, I've written a journal entry like this before but I deleted it. I know see that was kinda a mistake.
Most of you are probably tired of all the slash, band, movie stars and book characters and plots being in most of the stories on Mibba. I know I'm sure as hell tired of them.
You can't go though the story lists without finding one of those. It's almost like a plague of Joe Jonas and Cullen stories which have THE SAME PLOT.
Now, I'm not bashing just one person and I know I'm not the best writer either but seriously, COME UP WITH YOUR OWN CHARACTERS AND PLOT.
Yes, I understand that coming up with an original plot can be hard and coming up with characters can be hard too but, you come up with that Mary Sue all by yourself, come up with other characters too because trust me, we don't want to read something about some poor innocent emo girl who's in love with MCR but the lead singer is in love with the lead guitarist but them shockingly he goes for the drummer and then the bassist is left out and is hardly ever in the story and THEN the lead singer falls in love with the emo girl but she's in love with someone else.
Or your the new, quiet girl at Forks high and, coincidentally enough, your life is JUST LIKE BELLA SWAN!!!
WAIT, STOP. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?!
No, it doesn't.
Granted, there are some GOOD Fan-fics out there, I just think a lot of people would like to see some more original stuff on this site.
But like I said before, I'm not doing this to be mean. It just needs to be said.

OH MY GOD
I hate when I look at a story and it's like, "I'm the new girl at Forks High. OH WAIT, who is that sparkly gorgeous man?! Oh, he's LOOKING AT ME! Now we're in love!"
I always want to go, "Wow, and here I thought the original Twilight was terrible."

We all go through that phase where we just begin writing, and want to test the water. That's when I believe we like to write about something that we know, so it doesn't seem like such a big risk to take on.
I do agree with you, though, on the simple fact that after you go through that phase, you should stop. Mine only lasted a few months. Maybe...five? I don't know, but some people still continue to write these kinds of stories after a lot more time than that.
And it's not that I have something against vampires, although I don't particularly enjoy reading about them, but I don't want to read 50 stories by 50 different authors about some guy who, when his physical traits are written out, has pale skin, golden eyes, and sounds almost exactly like Edward Cullen.
It's a huge step to take, to go out of your comfort zone and write something completely your own, but you're never going to grow unless you try.
And to be quite honest, it's not as scary as it seems to be.

Haha, this is great. I don't think I could agree more if I tried.
...
Yep, just tried, and it's confirmed: I couldn't agree more if I tried.

bahhahah i lovve you :D
"Or your the new, quiet girl at Forks high and, coincidentally enough, your life is JUST LIKE BELLA SWAN!!!"
that is so ridiculously true it's kind of sad
there are just sooo many fanfictions on here that it's getting hard to find some originality

Sorry, I like band fan fiction.
I am going to try to re-write an original story I wrote in 8th grade....I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
People are going to write what they want, regardless of what other people think about it.
I've been on about a million different sites for fan fiction, but they always get taken away.
So, this is where we all go to post our fan fiction.

A lot of the fanfics are pretty similar to each other. But not all fanfics are. Some do have original plots. I've been told a lot of my stories have original plot lines from the other stories that have the same pairing I do.
And as for the 'make your own characters', it bugs me when someone says a fanfic writer doesn't make their own character. Yes, the characters are real people but the author also has to think up the way that the character will be portrayed. With my stories, the musicians I use in my stories are portrayed differently from story to story and many authors portray their fanfic characters differently. Making characters in fanfic is just as hard and takes as much thought as original does.

I think that some Fan-Fics do need to be more original or different but I don't think it will change unfortunately :\ People will just write about the latest movie/book/band.

i know!
I never thought it was possible but mibba has put me OFF some famous ppl lol
the wiriting is of good standard but when you see so much repeated it kind of gets at you
its sad as alot of stories on here and written with a good balance of literary devices, but its wasted when the plot or characters arent their own ):
and tbh fanfics are one thing
rewriting your own verision of a perfectly good book is kinda lame :/
