Hello.
So today I bumped into this girl I knew freshman year. We used to be really close when we both lived in the dorms. She was in room a couple down for me. We attended a lot parties together. We were definitely party buddies.
And today I bumped into her and things were so…formal. She said, “Hello.” I said, “Hello.” She asked how I’d been. I said, “Good, and you.” It was all so weird. I quickly told her where I was living now and we made those “We should totally hang out soon” plans, and then we parted ways.
After, when I got back home and was sipping my coffee, I thought, “What the fuck? Why were we being so formal with each other?” I mean, on several occasions, I pulled this chick’s head out of the communal toilet. We hitched rides together back to campus more times than I could count (carding the people who drove before hoping into the car, hoping that seeing their student ID’s would make what we were doing any safer). We woke up in each others' rooms, sometimes on the floor, sometimes all in one bed, sometimes sleeping at horrific angles in the hard chairs. I know this girl.
And now two years later, we’re running into each other and acting all formal.
Growing up is weird.
---
On another note, I was talking to my stepdad and mom (who's pregnant...again) today and while I was on the phone with my stepdad, I could hear all the wild commotion going on with the kids. I'm trying to pay attention to what my stepdad is saying (something about my younger stepbrother or whatever) when I hear my mom ask one of my siblings, "Did you wipe? What did I tell you about wiping your butt?" To which my little brother replies, "Who wipes?" I couldn't stop laughing. That kid has obviously seen Madagascar way too many times.
Yours truly,
Audrey T. will finish the update for Awkward soon.
Almost forgot, but I am going to learn this dance and get my friends to do at a party. I WILL.

Hmmm, I have a friend who I've known since I was about uh... 1. And we used to bath together, go to school together, share our little girl crushes, ect, ect, ect., Yet, I saw her this past summer [since I've moved away from there about 6 years ago, and I visit every summer] ....But it was just so odd this time. We've changed, and like... there wasn't are normal connection anymore. :/

Ha. My little sister went through a Madagascar phase last year. Every single Friday of my life since has become "Friday - Field Trip Day".

A part of me is dreading growing up and having to face the real world. Sometimes I may want to be in a hurry and grow up, move out, go to college and everything. But at the same time the thought of that terrifies me. Ehh...
And... congratulations to your mom?
