Campus Chaos '09
Last night I went to Campus Chaos with my sister and a friend of ours. It's a huge indoor concert with three stages that's held here every year and put on by a few of the colleges and one of the radio stations. I got to see Armchair Cynics, Age of Daze, Tupelo Honey, Rev Theory, Social Code, State of Shock, and Bif Naked. There were a bunch of other bands there too, but I missed them. If you haven't heard of these bands, it's probably because some of them are from right here in Edmonton, and almost all of them are only famous in Canada.
I got to the front row at Armchair Cynics and Social Code, which has been one of my favourite bands since 2004 when they released "A Year At The Movies". I was going to buy an Armchair Cynics shirt, but they only had one design and it was quite ugly, to be honest. The merch girl said that they only brought ten shirts to sell in total. So I bought a Social Code shirt instead.
I got some really good pictures of Social Code. I mainly got their lead singer, Travis, though. I was right in front of him so he was the easiest to see. Sorry that they're tilted to the side.

They did a cover of "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" by The Darkness. Apparently a boa and glasses are the appropriate thing to wear for that song lol.

I have a lot more pictures, but they're all pretty much the same thing.
I ran into a bunch of old friends there too. But the best part of the entire night was when Social Code sang "Beautiful" and Travis sang the entire second verse to me. Nobody believed me, but the girl that was with me at the front backed me up. He just kept smiling at me when I sang it back. My friend caught the guitar pick. I learned that I need to go to more mosh pits with her, because she's so short that everyone feels sorry for her and lets her go to the front.
So, in short, I got wasted and saw an amazing rock show with a bunch of random friends. Couldn't have asked for a better night!
