Katsumi Tell All: Finally Something About Movies
So its just dawned on me tha HollyWood sucks and thinks Remakes or what they are called now "Re-boots," are cool. Well I have to say no they are not in no way shape or form, well the ones I have seen anyway so today we'll be looking at movie Re-makes and the originals and comparing them...
14 Going on 30 (1988) I haven't seen it but I have seen its counter part 13 Going on 30 (2004)
Not a bad movie though I think it could have been acted out better and probably fleshed out more something tells me this movie was just re-done to make some cash.
The Amityville Horror (1979) .VS. The Amityville Horror (2005)
I have seen both of these movies and I have to say the original was well done on the budget they had, well planned and well though out... But for me the Re-make wins against the odds in this one, it was more scary, slightly better devolped and more of a movie that could stand on its own the the original that was actually a sequle not the first in the thrilloy (3 movies) and well come on Ryan Reynolds is the man...
The Bad News Bears (1976) .VS. The Bad News Bears (2005)
I've only seen the 2005 one but if the original is anything like the remake I don't think I will be seeing it anytime soon either, If you build it nerd will come. Seriously WTF, kind of line is that, and how bad on the selfestem is that for kids who play that sport, this movie was just all around bad...
Bedazzled (1967) .VS. Bedazzled (2000)
Seen 2000 but not the original, seeing as I did not know this was a remake, I generally liked this movie, though it was lacking in most parts and just there for my entertainment I believe the original would be much better..
The Birds (1963) .VS. The Birds (2009)
Of course the 09 one has not yet came out, but I will never see this, I think if someone who directed a movie is dead you shouldn't go around re-making their movies, The Birds, is the best movie done by the late and very great Alfred Hitchcock
Carrie 197 .VS. Carri 2002
I have indeed seen the 97 one and I refuse to see the 02 remake seriously why take a great movie and make a bad one just to confuse people, if the movie is a made for TV movie you know its going to be back, I just cant understand why people want to see the same shit over again..
Well its late for me and I am slightly tired of bitching about Remakes so I will stop with Carrie and pick back up in a new Journal with CATCF :)

Yeah but yet it is the same, its not always wrong either

Yeah but the in 14 going on 30 one he becomes an adult in that present time because he has a crush on his teacher. In the other one she desperately wants to be an adult and wakes up living her dream adult life in the future.
Not really the same, they just have similar names. Wikipedia isn't always reliable.

Well you may want to tell my souce they are wrong then, plots dont have to be the same to always be a remake, most the time yes but not always....
katsumi, September 30th, 2009 at 12:22:19pm
actually: I just checked... 13 going on 30 isn't a remake of 14 going on 30. The plots are nothing alike.

I didn't even know 13 going on 30 was a remake... but here it's called Suddenly 30. I don't know why.
