Dorney Park
The place where my mom works had their fiftieth anniversary and the owner thought it would be a great idea to take the employees and their families to Dorney Park. It was a good idea. We went yesterday. My mom took me and my cousin and we had a blast.
We rode the rides for five hours. Steel Force is awesome. Hell my mom even went o the rides, well she only went on Steel Force, Hydra and Talon. I was surprised she went on Hydra and Talon cause your feet dangle on those rides and she’s doesn’t really like them kind of rides. I was proud of her when she went on those rides. :)
The dominator is great. It has two towers, the red one and the green one. The red one shoots you up to about 155 ft into the air and then slowly lets you back down. The green one takes you up about 170 ft and then you just kind of sit there for a moment then it just drops you back down. They were awesome, though I like the red one better.
Steel Force has a 205 ft drop and the first time we went on it, as we went down that first drop when something flew into my mouth. It was great. :)
Hydra was cool. In the beginning when you first leave the dock area you go around the first twist, but you go around it slowly and that’s just great because you’re like literally moving in your seat. It’s awesome.
There’s this new one called Possessed, I think it’s called that. Anyway that one took me a while to work up the nerve to go on it. It’s like this u-shaped track. It’s starts off taking you forward up the one track tower then back down up to the second track tower. It only goes back and forth a few times and it’s a pretty simple ride but for some reason it took me awhile to go on it. Though when I did and after I got off I grabbed my cousin and pulled him back to the line so we could go on it again.
At five o’clock we just walked around for about an hour playing games. I won a stuffed Taz and then at six o'clock is when the Halloween Haunt started. There are 11 Haunts; Asylum, Cornstalkers, Kill Hill, Psycho Circus, Club Blood, Backwoods, The Gauntlet, Death Trap, Terror Square, Pirate’s Passage and Headstone Hollow.
Asylum and Cornstalkers were by far the best. Kill Hill and Psycho Circus were great. Those two had clowns. Though Kill Hill had an alien and at the end two people camouflaged against the walls that jump out at you, but it was mostly clowns. Dude, clowns can be creepy as hell. Especially when you got the strobe lights, the black lights and the fog.
In between the Haunts, my cousin and I went on some of the rides. Man going on rollercoaster’s at night it the best. Especially with the fog from all the Haunts floating around the rides. It was great.
But definitely, if anyone lives around Allentown, PA, go to Dorney Park for the Halloween Haunt. And definitely go to Asylum and Cornstalkers. You will not be disappointed. I’ve never been to and amusement park during Halloween so that was a first and it was awesome. I am definitely going back next year that’s for sure.
We walked for like ten hours and my legs hurt, my feet hurt, I’ve got blisters on my feet and my throat hurts from screaming on the rides and during the Haunts, but hell, it’s worth it.
So that’s how I spent my day yesterday. And boy did I have a lot of fun and if you’re in the area, GO.
