Apparently, I'm really good at job interviews. Puppies! [A man that lives inside of my roommate's sister's hand is coming to visit.]
So, yeah. You remember that job interview I went on, Tuesday morning? Last night I got a call from them that told me to report for job training today, so they could offer me the job. Huzzah!
It was an interesting time. It's a nice environment, and I think that I'm going to fit in okay there. Even better, I'm being trained with two other new employees, so I'm not the only one that's awkwardly attempting to learn the ropes right now.
The assistant manager that took us around and was training us today has the same piercing (labret) as I do. That was kind of nice. She noticed my retainer (d*mn, not as inconspicious as I thought, I suppose) and said, "As long as you don't have the bead on the end of the post, they don't care." If I do that, and keep my septum horseshoe tucked up in my nose while I work, I'm golden.
It is a little concerning, though, how the job works. We get an hourly rate, but we also work on comission. I won't say how much we get back out of everything we sell, but I could easily be making good money if I stay on top of sales. But it's also scary, because one of the managers admitted, "Well, I mean...not everyone is good at sales. And those who aren't, well...they don't last long." I think I'll do okay, but I shouldn't quit my current job so hastily. I'll just have to talk with my manager about cutting me down to fewer hours over there, in the meantime.
So much for a vacation, though! This is the one vacation I get from my other job, and I'm spending it working at another. Um. Yay.
On the plus side...at least at this job, it's less repetitve. And I get to spend time around puppies, so...that's a plus.

Chelsea is leaving for the weekend, and in her place we're getting two other girls coming to stay at our house - Branden's cousin, and Caitlin's sister, Julie. I don't know Branden's cousin that well, but she seems to be a nice girl. Caitlin's sister...well, she can be nice, but she's honestly odd in a way that can be unsettling.
It doesn't help that Sam is going out with Carl, now. It's such a weird pairing, I don't really know how to describe it. And Sam is actually Julie's boyfriend. But it's okay, and not really cheating, because Carl is a man that lives in Julie's hand. (When she makes her fingers form the mouth, and draws on the eyes...yeah. Think Jennifer Lopez in that "South Park" episode, and that's really about it.)
Sadly, it's not even a running joke. Sam just kind of has to deal with it. He wants Julie, and when you get Julie, you get Carl. Carl has a tendency to molest unsuspecting people, so I try to stay away whenever he's around. And he's going to be at my house this weekend.
Caitlin's family is so f*cked up. It's sad, really, that Julie is considered the normal one.

Hey, congrats on getting the job. :]

eulogy: At my other job, we're encouraged to push sales as much as we can. At this job, you work on commission, plus your hourly salary. If you want to make more money, you sell more. And if you can't sell enough, you're probably out of a job. So that's a little nerve-wracking. I've never had a job where the state of my employment depended on how much I managed to sell.
Audrey T. I keep trying! I need proof, first, or else there's no case.

Oh, you need to report that Carl to the proper authorities. He sounds like trouble.

Isn't sales what you did at your last job? So should so fine at this one, right? Right. And of course the puppies will make the job easier.
