Remember, remember, the Fifth of November... [Photos of things you don't care about. At least the cat is cute.]

Remember, remember, the Fifth of November...

I wish I didn't have to work today. Otherwise, I'd be running about the neighborhood in my Guy Fawkes mask and a cape by now.

On the plus side, it looks gorgeous out today.

Thinking about taking a walk before I absolutely have to get ready for work. The weather is just too beautiful to waste on my staying in the house until I go to work, where I'll be until way after the sun goes down. D*mn retail.

In other news, I hate veterinary offices. My cat, Cupid, is getting sick and they're being absolute dicks about it. I called for an appointment, described her symptoms to the person on the phone, and it all basically boiled down to, "Well, with what you've told me it could be nothing...it could be organ failure...or it could be feline leukemia. You said the cat is almost 15, right? Well, at that age, you know...but she doesn't seem to be in any pain, right? Cool, well then we'll get you in on Friday." Apparently, no pain = no emergency, which is such bullsh*t. It could very well be feline leukemia, and that's not an emergency? Erg.

At least she really doesn't seem to be in pain; she's getting around okay (hell, yesterday she jumped atop the fridge to hang out) and she's happy enough cuddling and purring and playing with the other cats. That's not stopping the concern coming from the other symptoms, and I just want to get her in there so I can find out what the hell is wrong with her. Hopefully it's something treatable.

Honestly, now. How can something this cute not be okay? Unfathomable.

Yesterday was "girl's night," a trade-off for certain people never being around because of work, school, and boys. Chelsea and Caitlin and I spent the night sitting in the living room and watching musicals while eating chocolate and popcorn, because apparently we really are that much of a cliché. Branden had to work, and he was very disappointed to miss it. (No, really. He just counts as a girl, in this house. I still don't know if he finds offense at that or not, but it's unlikely.) And Becca wasn't there because she was at her boyfriend's house - traitor - but it was a fun time anyway.

We re-arranged the entire living, and I think it's more spacious now. We wouldn't have even touched it if we hadn't needed the room, though. The video store a few blocks over is going out of business, and while we were there a couple of nights ago we discovered that they were selling the big DVD racks used in the store. We bought one, and wheeled it the whole way home. I'm sure we looked like giant tools in the process, but at least now we have shelves for the DVDs (though I've yet to add my collection in with the mix).

So, so ugly, right? But everything in the room is mismatched - red shelves, green couch, gold walls, green fireplace, brown entertainment center, etc - that it doesn't really matter. Maybe someday we'll get around to spray-painting them a more suitable color, but we're not worried about it just yet.

Severe writer's block coming along, right now. I couldn't tell you when No Man's Land will be updated again, honestly. I've written a fair bit for the next chapter, but the rest just isn't coming. It'll happen, it just might take a while. God, I'll make for a horrid author, should I ever make it so far. Deadlines will never be my friends.

Audrey T. is working on the next chapter of our Green Day co-write, Awkward, and what I've read from it thus far is just lovely. Don't know when that will be updated, but it'll be worth the wait either way.
