More insight into the world of the Lyckis!

I know some of you enjoyed some of the tidbit of information about my book in progress. Well, I thought I would explain a bit more about Hunters. Both Rogue and League types.

First, I will be talking about the League type.

As some of you know the League is a broad term that basically describes all Hunters. In the League are Families. I do mean literally a Family or Families. Hunters are a family "business" and Hunting is taught to each generation that is born. There is a total of 13 major families. Those families make up the Elders of the League. One head of each of the 13 families is elected to represent that family unit in the Elders. Of course there is several different minor families, but the original 13 is always on the Elders.

Also, the League Hunters are special in the fact they have the ability to see the Myth life around them. They can also tell the difference between Pure and Turned Lycki. Which makes them a most dangerous adversary for any kind of Lycki. Because of these abilities each Family has their own set of rules and many of those rules are shared by all Hunter Families. Such as never hunt alone or make sure you give a courtesy call before heading into a different Hunter Family territory.

Each Hunter Family controls a different section of the world. Those are called Territories. The families within that Territory pretty much patrol for crazed Lycki, Lycki and/or half bloods. Most Hunter families do not hunt other Myth species, but they have been known to hunt Vampires and Demons on occasion.

Most Families require that you marry into another Hunter family or at least to someone who has a high degree of a sixth sense. Since many Families want to preserve their unique abilities and because of this not many marry outside the Hunter Families around the world. In fact, it is encouraged to marry into other Hunter Families to strengthen ties and to move up in the Elders.

Now it is time to talk about Rogues.

Rogues are human beings that some how found out about the world of the Myths. Particularly in the case of the Lycki. So, long ago Factions were created to house, initiate, and some what train new Rogues. Then send them out into the world to kill the Lycki they come across. Many Rings/Gangs of Rogues have at least one or two that have a high sixth sense and use them to locate Lycki to kill.

Rogues also have no sense of organization outside of the Rings/Gangs they are in. They also don't hunt in packs like League Hunters do. Most they do is two or three in a hunting party. Which makes them easier to kill and/or control.

Most Rogues have similar rules as the League Families, but don't truly enforce them. Unless that Ring/Gang is large enough and powerful enough to do so.

Right now in the book I am writing the Rogues are becoming more organized and now have a central leader who is rounding up all Rogue Hunters. Which is a first in a long history for Rogues. This can spell disaster for both the League and Myths.

Well, I hope this sheds a bit more light into the Hunter world of Lyckis!
