My Chemical Romance-EMO?
Today after Study Club (don't ask) at my middle school, we were waiting for the bus to take us to my town (The middle school's five miles away) and the Jazz Band people have to ride in our bus. Well, my ex-crush Dillon, my best friends Katy and Jessie and I were listening to Jessie's songs on her phone when Dillon asks "Do you have Famous Last Words? My Chem-" I had finsished the "Chemical Romance" but I didn't even know Dillon was a fan of them. He's like "I'm into emo, rock, and heavy metal. My Chemical Romance is emo." What the french toast? Dillon is one of the preppiest kids in school (reason EX-crush!) I told MCR wasn't emo and he said they were. I have them under rock and alternitive rock on my iPod. I told him he was a fucking teenie. He walked off! But still, how many people actually think MCR is emo? Just cause some songs 'as my brother puts it: suicide thoughts' in it, does that really make them emo?

MCR is not emo, and never will be and they never have been, just because they have maybe...what, two?....lyrics, doesn't mean they're emo, emo isn't even a real music genre, it's just something people some idiots made up so they could have a name to call people and objects and music they disrespect, so basically, nothing's emo, so then, how is MCR?

I am sick of people calling them emo because they certainly aren't. They are anti-suicide....I think of them as Alternative/Punk Rock.

If emo stands for 'emotional,' quoting some people here, isn't MUSIC IN GENERAL supposed to be EMOTIONAL? I mean, it's a way of expressing passion and creativity. To let out emotions. EMOTIONAL.

They're lyrics can be emotional, therefore they are emo. Tayla Togepi said it right
I think MCR is emo. No matter how much they do to fight it, the music and lyrics fall under the catagory. I don't think it's a bad thing though, who cares what the genre is eh?
Either way, they are not metal. Metal is music like Metallica, Bullet For My Valentine, A7X, or Pantera.

MCR is emo.
People catorgarize emo music as a band that inflicts self harm or whatever. MCR isn't telling you to hurt your self, they saving you.
Never have I thought MCR was emo and I never understood how people thought they were.

dude, fall out boy is supposed to be emo. they more hip hop than mcr! and mcr is like punk rock. and their new album is like not even punk. that dude is a dumbass.
