2-19-08 Concert: Three days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, Hurt.

I deleted the other one, and I'm reposting this with links to my videos

February 19th 2008: Shall we start with the nightmares of confusion I had as where to actually park? Well I finally figured out it was the parking garage across the street, but I was just confused cause it was like “6 AM - 6PM” but I called and found out I was in the right spot. It was about 5 pm when I decided to go wait by the door. Doors didn’t open till 6. I thought I would be ok, but as time dragged, the 2 pairs of socks I was wearing didn’t help at all. My toes went completely numb. Just when I thought I wouldn’t take anymore, doors finally opened.

I was pretty close to the front of the lines, and I got my wristband, ran downstairs into the pit area. Sadly, there were no barricade spots left, but that line was the only group of people in there. So I was half on the barricades. Second row if you must.

First band to come on: Hurt. Newish band. They were like a surprise guest to the show. They weren’t bad. Their bass player was awesome, with his spinning ness. The lead singer looked like Chris Daughtry, but he totally rocked the violin for one song.

Next up: Seether: I forget what song they started with, it was one I don’t think I heard. They played their hits though, except for “Driven Under” Adam and Barry from Three Days Grace joined them for “Broken” which kinda made me a bit sad, cause that was pretty much Shaun Morgan & Amy Lee’s song. They played another hit in which I forgot the name of. “I am, aware now, how everything’s gonna be fine…” something like that. They played “Fake It” in which the crowd went nuts. And closed out with “Remedy.”

Next up: BREAKING BENJAMIN!: came on playing “Diary Of Jane.” Ben Burnley is REALLY hot in person. XD He makes funny faces when he screams and stuff. I forget the order, but they played their hits too. “Breath” “Sooner Or Later” went back to old times for “Polyamorous” They also played “Until The End.” “Breakdown” “Had Enough” “Topless” “Breakdown.” Then they did a song that I don’t know, but had Adam from Three Days Grace, and Shaun from Seether come out and sing with them. Ben went around throwing water into the crowd. He came in the little area between the pit and the stage, and I was like 5 feet away from him. Then about halfway through their set, was this little intermission thing or something. Either way, their drummer was going insane, doing solos and stuff. Then he was like "ssshhhh" to the crowd, and then he was like "CHECK THIS SHIT OUT!" and started drumming insanely again, then their guitarist came out, and they started playing part of Metallica’s “One” then broke into some AC/DC “back In Black” I think. Then broke into some “Bulls On Parade” guitar riffy stuff. It was pretty awesome. Then they played a small part of “Riot” from Three Days Grace, like one of those “Oh and this band will be coming up in a few minutes.” Then they finished out their set with “So Cold.”

Headliners of the night: Three Days Grace: Their set started with the intro to “Burn.” but when they came onstage, they started with “Animal I Have Become.” Their gutiarist, Barry is so creepy looking, but he’s so awesome. He acknowledged me at one point. Cause he was playing and doing this creepy look at the crowd, and when he looked towards me, I gave my rock hand and he made a “oh yeah rock on.” type face. They were the only set that had pyro. I forget what songs exactly, but I know “Riot” was one of them. The crowd went nuts for that song. They also played “Just Like You.” “Scared” (I think that was the other song with Pyro) “I Hate Everything About You.” “Pain” “Get out Alive.” “Never Too Late” “Let It Die” “Gone Forever.” Adam came out alone in the middle of the set and did an acoustic cover of “Rooster” by Alice In Chains. Adam also took a spotlight to the crowd too, which was hilarious. They finished out their set with “Home.” and Adam was hilarious. He was all like “I wanna see all of you standing up, jumping and everything.” Then he looked to the seats on our right/his left and was like “YOU! GET THE **** UP!!!” Then he was like “If you see someone next to you, get them the **** up.” Yeah it was hilarious. Towards the end of the set, Barry was throwin away all his guitar picks, and they kept bouncing out of my hands. A few minutes later an event staff person picked one up and I absentmindedly held my hand out, and guess where that guitar pick landed: MY HAND! WOO I almost got a drumstick too. I had it IN MY GRASP, but it didn’t stay there. The same happened with Breaking Benjamin too.

So all in all, the show was just amazing. Probably one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I didn’t bother staying to try and meet the bands, because it was like 0 degrees outside, and I just wanted to get home. I’m sure I’ll get really sick now.
