Journal posting guide.
If you're going to take the time post a journal- make it something worth people's time.
Everyone has a different opinion on what is 'interesting', but please, please at least use decent proper grammar and spelling. Not to mention: Capitalization.
It's so annoying to click on a journal and it look like this:
do u no of n-e good stories i can read i only read fan fecitiun boisex so dun put n-e thing ooriginul or i wun reeed it. blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah a bunch mur stuff lyke dys with no point to it what-so-ever i cant type like that anymore but you have seen this journals with really bad spelling and no periods question marks commas or any other form of grammar that make you look like you have a brain because we all know its so hard to hit a few extra buttons and use spell check. are you still reading this because i wouldnt be by now blah blah blah and it goes on for about fifteen paragraphs all jumbled together with no spaces
_____
Okay, that literally hurt to write like that. But you get my point.
CAPS LOCK IS YOUR FRIEND! But not for the whole journal. Just for the beginning of a sentence/people's names and such. You should know this by now.
Just so you know: Commas (,) Periods (.) Question marks (?)See how easy that is?
And FOR GOD'S SAKE: Put spaces between paragraphs. It's not hard. You just click the enter button a few times and you're set.
There's a spell check AT THE TOP OF THIS PAGE. Look in the upper corner up there? See where it says 'spell check'? Well, my friend, use it.
I absolutely refuse to read any journal where people type like that. It's so annoying to click a journal and see them written like that. Next time use some common sense.
Please.

I'll tell you what made me giggle:
iMaggie: "I always use correct grammer. It hurts not too."
Uhh, correct me (and my English teacher) if I'm wrong, but that's incorrect grammar. You must be hurting right now. It should be 'to' with one 'o', not two o's (unintentional pun.) 'Too' with two o's would be as in 'too much', or so on.
Sorry, I was just making a point. I wasn't deliberately bashing iMaggie, it just seemed kinda hippocritical. Loads of people do it, and it really annoys me. [/grammar freak moment]
And by the way, I compltely agree. Grammar and punctuation in journals is definitely slipping. This was a cool journal =]

I understand. That was well said. I actually never noticed the spell check thingy in the corner. I feel kinda stupid now. I'm usually pretty good at spelling and stuff though.

Well said.
Though know that some people can't get the spellcheck option on their computers. I never knew Mibba had one until I was on my parents' computer the other day, and saw it in the corner. It's not there, on my computer.
That's no excuse for poor spelling, of course, as it's just as simple to write in a Word document or find a spellcheck program online to use - I'm just letting you know.

I concur

I always use correct grammer. It hurts not too. And if a journal doesn't even look semi-decent, I don't read it. That example that you wrote, with all the horribleness, I didn't even bother reading it. It hurt my eyes and inner being. *cries*

Seraphim - i type like you at times. like most of my journals :cute:
and yes, most of caps are used on the boards XD
above the influence, July 15th, 2008 at 04:08:02am
i don't tend to use capitals in my journals. and it's like. i KNOW i'm not using capitals. and it's not like i'm spelling like an idiot. sure, my grammar isn't that great because when i write journals, i tend to use sentence fragments and ramble a lot, just like this comment, but my journals are always divided up into like a million paragraphs. mm, paragraphs...
anyway, i get what you mean, and what you wrote kind of makes things impossible to read, but i don't think my lack of capitals is hindering anything. it doesn't make it difficult to read.
besides, i use caps on the boards. :con:

Actually, I read them quite often. I'm not saying I haven't seen journals like the ones you're describing, but I see journals like this one here alot more often.
Two Dollar Bill, July 15th, 2008 at 03:50:21am
To the person below me: You obviously don't read a lot of them. Just go over the journals on the first page. You'll see what I mean.
Geesecks., July 15th, 2008 at 03:48:02am
You know... I honestly don't see too many journals that are anything like the things people complain about.
It's very rare I'll see a totally pointless journal, and even more rare that I'll see one with atrocious grammar... I honestly see alot more journals complaining about journals like that than the actual journals that seem to be so problematic.
I mean... I'm sure they're there, and I tend to miss them or something... but I don't think they're as common as they're made out to be.
Two Dollar Bill, July 15th, 2008 at 03:46:44am
File someone posted something like this. I feel my brain waves disappear every time I read something with poor grammar as well as abbreviations for words like "YOU"
>.<
