Can anyone give me a good romance story to read?
And I'm not talking the slushy, happily ever after kind. I mean proper romance, with hurt and agony as well as bliss and beauty. I want something to really grab my attention, something to lose myself in for a while. I really want a good love story to prove to me love isn't as dead as it seems right now >.<
I want something really close to real life. Something that isn't totally out of your reach in the real world.
If it could be a really good Green Day love story that'd be great, and I don't really want a My Chemical Romance one. But I'm pretty much open to anything.
Basically, I'm bored, still not over my ex, in dire need of some love and I need a major cure. Care to help on any of these fronts?

My fic, No Man's Land, follows along those lines quite well - or at least it will, since the 'romance' part of it has just begun. Though it is a My Chemical Romance fic, so...
