Society rant
I wish today's culture wasn't based so much on emotions. We're so afraid of "hurting someone's feelings" we censor ourselves and withhold our true views on a subject because of the emotional pressure our society puts on us. I understand this is to make everyone happy and help tolerance but it does the complete opposite.
What is tolerated are only fairly liberal cultural, social and political views. If someone thinks different they're bound to offend the majority so therefore their opinion is not tolerated. These social liberals call themselves open-minded when it is truly the opposite.
The words "acceptance" "tolerance" and "diversity" usually are associated with race in today's culture. This is a mistake. If we're so emotionally conscious why do we feel no remorse in flaming someone who has different ideals and opinions? Why is it okay to BE different but not to THINK different?

Yeah, it's annoying how the younger generation can be just as narrow-minded as the older. I just wanted to make sure that was what you were talking about.
In those cases, it's correct to call those people "white" or "black" then. Really the only problem I have with political correctness is it divides people into groups--when you're talking about groups in general, then yeah, use it, but when you're talking about individual cases, it's probably best to leave it alone.

Madonna Elwood, I am talking about society's youth.
Politically Correctness makes people pretend to be color blind when I think the differences between races is what makes each one special and also I know a lot of people who really hate being called "african american" "caucasian" etc.
I do respect your opinion though. I can understand how being PC CAN be a good thing in places where racial conflict is prevalent.

Not really. I think you're talking about society's youth. The majority of middle-aged Americans are still quasi-conservative.
I happen to like political correctness, though. It helps people get along.

Society constantly contradicts itself.
I totally agree.

Agree.
Political correctness is one thing...
that I'm rather unimpressed by.
But, yes.
