Bullet For My Valentine Concert
So Niki and I went to see Bullet For My Valentine last night, and I feel the need to blog about it, just because it was about the most fucked up day with the best ending in the history of ever.
Before I even really start talking, I just have to say, fuck Cleveland dude. That city sucks. Anyway... back on topic. So our dumbasses left at 7:30 a.m. to get to Cleveland before noon. Thinking back, we probably could have used the sleep. We did fine for the first couple of hours... then we sort of got lost. And that would have been my fault. :-\ Oops. But we managed to find our way to Cleveland anyway! We're just that damn good.
And then a cop stops us. Right outside of fucking Cleveland. For 'speeding'. We were going 1 mph over his limit. He was a fucking dick. (This is one reason for my fuck Cleveland comment.) The asshole finally let us go, and we got into Cleveland, only to find out that apparently the entire city is under road construction? Seriously, how the fuck do you get around that God damned city? We had to drive around in circles forever before we could find parking. Fucking ridiculous dude. Then we had to walk our asses to the House Of Blues.
We got there 'slightly' early. In fact we were the first ones there. And after a couple of hours, we figured out how to get the 'pass the line passes' or whatever, and how to use them. That was the most confusing thing ever because apparently no one likes to tell you exactly how things work there. Then we had to wait, for like four and a half hours. We met a few cool people though, and we entertained ourselves with coat hangers and drawing on the walls. And I got a weird look from Bleeding Through's guitarist when I was walking back to my place in line after peeing. Apparently he didn't expect to see someone walking around? But that's basically the most eventful things we did in line. I'm not complaining though, we were first, and it made me happy. :)
The time for the show came, and we got front row (of course). The first band that played was Cancer Bats. I'd never head them before, but they were actually pretty damn good. I was impressed. Though I got whacked with his mic cord a couple of times when he jumped offstage, all was good.
Bleeding Through came next, and oh my fucking God, they were amazing. Better than I thought they would be. I was literally crushed to the point that I couldn't stand up halfway through the set. Though I'm thinking the fact that all I really ate that day was a slim jim may have contributed too.
Then there was the whole reason I went to that concert. The reason Niki's ass flew from fucking Colorado and we drove five fucking hours (there after getting lost) to Cleveland. Bullet For My Valentine.
Holy fucking shit. They were just, better than words could describe. And my God do they know how to get a crowd riled up. It was just... wow. That's all I can say. One of the most awesome parts was that Matt Tuck played most of All These Things I Hate as an acoustic. It was so fucking awesome. And everyone was singing the words. I even saw a little four year old on a guys shoulders singing along. It cracked me up.
I'd go into detail about the set, but then I'll end up rambling on and on about the band, and that's never good. haha.
They finished off with a cover of Creeping Death, which was amazing. And the crowd went absolutely nuts! Bullet covers that song really well in my opinion.
Anyway, after the show... well, for starters, Niki caught Moose's drumstick, which was pretty fucking amazing in my opinion. You could hear her halfway across the room screaming when some dick tried to take it from her. That made me laugh. Then we finally got past the crowd and got outside. And I have to say, there was one advantage to arriving early and walking around Cleveland, we knew where the buses were...
We got to see Bullet, which was pretty cool. But I'd have to say the best part was actually meeting Jay, the bassist. That was unbelievably surreal. He was a lot shorter than I thought he'd be, and he was really quiet. But it was fucking awesome. Pretty much the best ending to a messed up day. haha.
Oh, and once Niki gets the pictures from yesterday up so I can steal them I'll have them up on my myspace.

Sounds awesome. I'm from Columbus, Ohio and my mom drove my sis and I to New York to see them. (I think she was looking for any excuse to go to NY). I wish I could of gone to the Cleveland show though.
I absolutely love the stories by the way!
