emosssss/
okay, i wrote a whole load of stuff but i reckon i would have offended a lot of people so i'm starting again.
this whole "emo" thing, everyone has an opinion, so i thought i'd state mine.
basically, you've got this so far;
group 1 - the, "emos"
group 2 - the people responsible for "emos are fags"
group 3 - the people who ultimately think theyre really open minded and different because they say "it shouldnt matter what people wear or what they listen to, everyones entitled to their opinion".
well here's mine.
group 1 - i don't agree with you. you are a trend. you may listen to the same music, dress the same for the rest of your life, but let's be honest, youre not going to. emo is a trend. stop getting so goddam annoyed at everyone for labelling you, because you do it to yourselves. this trend will be over after id say about 2010. i personally think this whole emo business is a bit of a joke. be yourself. which youre clearly not being, cause it aint coincidence that you all dress the same and listen to the same bands is it? or if thats not the case, what do you define emo as?
group 2 - i don't agree with you. i admit there will always be discrimination. and yes it's easy to look at emos and say theyre pathetic. but some of these kids are like 12-13. give them a break. people jump in and out of phases at that age sooooo much. so did i. i think for a lot of poeple it comes down to insecurity. yknow, "if i dress like this and listen to this, i'll belong somewhere". an understandable feeling. so yknow, shut up, youre annoying.
group 3 - there's so many of you, there's no point. no ones listening anyway. we'd all love for everyone to stop being arseholes to everyone else, but theyre not going to. you just get pricks like that yknow.
anyway, basically, this is doing my head in.
your not individual. saying your different is what makes you all the goddam same.
so just stop and think, what do i actually want. listen to music. like properly LISTEN to it. look up anything and everyhting, blues, soul, reggae, funk, punk, jazz. cause youll discover shit you didnt even know existed. that you might really like.
so stop wasting time and LIVE BITCHES.
so thats my opinion. questions comments etc., fire at will.
23RD AUGUST (ADDED BIT) ;
i wanted to also say that im fairly sure "emo" doesnt stand for emotional, which im sure is what most emos think it does.
it started in the 90's and "emo" is an abbreviation of "emotive rock", a sub genre of rock. much like rock music, but with more profound lyrics etc.
unfortuneatly the word has been taking over by crying kids who wear to much eyeliner, who wouldnt know what rock was if it slapped them in the arse and cut ther willy off.
shame really.
haha i realise that bit was a bit offensive, but hey, fuck it.

Gah, I look back when I was 11 and 12. I wanted to go back in time and tell myself to snap out of it.

Basically like my other journal.
i was expecting F*you too but i actually got some really nice things out of it.
Like one of my friends said when you get older you will be like what the f* was wrong with me in highschool, pretty sure people won't know what emo or prep or jock was.

The only trend I used to follow was my father's. Wear clothes that made me uncomfortable, did things I didn't want to do, ect.
Well, let's just say my closet has more men t-shirts in it than it should...

i was half expecting a barrel-load of "f*ck you"s, this response is well better (:

It definitely is a trend and it will die out. For a while (about a year) I shopped at Hot Topic and bought clothes and CDs with my own money, but now I go to Khol's and I wear what I want. I barely ever listen to music and I spend most of my time playing volleyball for my school now.
People change and trends fade out.

I bow down to your supremecy in this knowlege. :p
I'm not ashamed to say that I know what it feels like to want to belong. It's so easy nowadays to just dress a certain way and all of a sudden be a somebody among certain types of people.
But whatever. It doesn't really matter. Trends are fads and originality is a way of thinking. In the end, it all fads and is soon replaced. It all matters none to me.

I think it's hilarious how all of these people go to Hot Topic so they can dress 'uniquely' and then they all have the same Hello Kitty or Gir or Dinosaur shirt...but that's just me.
