Oh, I'm going to miss him so much. Catcher in the Rye saved my life at one point. Also, A Perfect Day for Bananafish was just a clusterf*ck of weird that has become one my favourites.

Great article, by the way. I nearly cried.

JD Salinger pulled me out of the darkness in my freshman year. He made me feel like I wasn't alone. I owe him that.
Thank you, JD, for writing my favorite book. I will forever be greatful. Rest in peace. <3

I loved this article, I didn't even know J.D. Salinger was alive today, and it sadens me that he is now gone.
I enjoyed reading this, it made me feel like I know him more as a person.

This is an amazingly written article. :D But, don't get mad at me or anything, but I didn't like Catcher In the Rye, I couldn't stand the way he wrote it, with all the old slang and half-italicised words. I'm sure it's a good book, but I just couldn't read it with the way a lot of points were continuously repeated. When I get round to it, I'll read some more of his works, though. (:

"Franny and Zooey" and "Catcher" are high up on my list of favourite books. This is really sad.

Great article, though.

This caught my eye because The Catcher in the Rye is an amazing book. I've read it probably three or four times. He was an amazing writer and I've always hoped to read more of his work.

For those of you who have only read Catcher in the Rye and liked it, I strongly recommend you look into his short stories about the Glasses family. You'll get a whole new perspective on Salinger, I guarantee it!

I was truly saddened by this news. Catcher in the Rye is and will always be one of my favorite books. He really was inspiring.

Beautiful article, btw.
