My grandma just found out she has Scoliosis and she might need metal rods put in her back. She's no 70 and only started having problems in the last year. For a while my doctor thought I had it too, so we went to a specialist and come to find out I don't have Scoliosis.

My cousin had scoliosis when she was little, but fortunately it healed itself on its own.

It's really sad that people have to be so ignorant and judgmental at such a young age. It's a shame that it's really, really hard to teach people at a young age that diseases and other physical characteristics don't define a person.

My best friend, her brother, and her mom all have scoliosis. It sucks, because their dad left so her brother had to quit school and get a job because her mom can't work, because her back is so effed up and she's had like 324 surgeries that don't do anything.

I have scoliosis, but I'm done growing so no one really cares anymore since it's not likely to get worse. I curve both ways, but it's even and you can barely tell with my hips. I remember one pant leg always dragging when I was little haha.

I have no curve at all. My spine is completely straight, which is bad 'cause it puts more pressure on the lower (lumbar?) region and can hurt my hips. Also, this severely limits my range of motion. Suffice to say, it is a very painful condition when it gets irritated D:<

Kurt Cobain had Scoliosis... It was kind of one of the reasons he started taking heroin; his Scoliosis had pinched a nerve in his stomach. [/random fact]
I'm not sure how serious it was, though.

I liked the article. Very informative. :D

I have minor scoliosis =/ They've been watching it and it's been getting a little worse every year. I'm starting to dance again to help straighten it out.
This is a well informed article, I appreciate you bringing attention to it.
