    Wow, smart girl.
If I were in her situation I don't know if I'd be able to figure it out, but I'm glad she didn't give up on trying to find what was wrong with herself.

My cousin Shilo has Crohn's disease. It never goes away, you have to stay on this exact diet.

If you don't like how they do the steak, make your own.

And a children's book about the disease? I guess it's good for information, but it's still strange. Good for her!

It's not that uncommon to have something that goes undiagnosed for a long time, there are just some things that have vague syptoms and finding them is more to do with pure luck that anything.

That's what I think this was. Pure luck rather than 'outsmarting' doctors. It's not like she's studied the seven years or whatever it takes to become a doctor. She was just very determined to find out what was wrong with her. More so than any doctor who, lets face it see heaps of patients every week and probably have bigger concerns.

Doctors seem to be so faulty…if I completely believed all of these articles, I'd have absolutely no faith in the medical system.

That's pretty awesome, though, what the girl did.

The symptoms were relatively non-specific, though.

The doctors probably took samples of her intestinal tissue. From that point forth, I'm assuming that she asked for some? Or she had it to begin with?

It's pretty impressive. It just goes to show that doctors obviously don't know everything.

    Agreed. It is rather impressive.
I can't help but be curious though: how did she get intestinal tissue?
    Just wonderinggg.
