Why did I not see this? I swear, I loved it so much. This drama made me cry. It was one of the best I have ever seen. I really wish there was more they could do for this condition. :( It really breaks my heart, you know? The real Ata is an inspiration to me. I love how she kept trying to write and write and write, even as her condition progressed and rendered her disabled. She didn't give up. That's the kind of inspiration I look upto when it comes to writing.

Aya's story is quite empowering =)

If I may, I have SCA type 3, commonly referred to as Machado-Joseph's Disease. It's good to know that there are other's out there, making a difference.

She made a difference by fighting it. She never gave up. I hope I can be as strong as she was.

Aya is such an inspiration. Even though all of her abilities were slowly leaving she never gave up and lived her life to the absolute fullest that she could.
We never realize just how lucky we are until those things are taken away.

i cried so much at the drama which is based on her story.... i couldent imagine what it would be like to be her. she seemed like an amazing person.

Is 1 Litre of Tears based on her? I'll have to watch it then. That girl must have gone through a whole lot of difficult situations. She must have been brave. RIP.

wow, I really couldn't imagine living without those basic skills - writing, speaking, and walking. This article made me value those gifts, and I feel for Aya. She was so brave! I do hope she is happy now. She deserves it...:-)

Ah so that movie was on her, I knew it was a true story but didn't exactly know who it was. Such a sad thing, but I guess that's life.
