it sounds good, but tattoos on the face representing sins sounds difficult. I mean they would have to be pretty intricate. of course, it's different if it's just the words for the sins. so maybe the tattoos would be on other parts of the body, in guys perhaps on the back.
and I know this may be stepping out of line, but maybe it would be more exciting to have both male and female characters... there are sins traditionally linked to women (you know what I mean) and would so be easier to write the character more clearly.
