Spaztastic: That's sweet that you got to take one free :) They don't do that here... You're pretty much on your own. I had to go to one of the colleges around here to take it because they don't even give us the option of taking it at our high school.

And I'll probablly end up studying...

    DarkestStorm: Thanks :)

Wow. Your scores are really good for being a freshmen. I'm ashamed to say they're higher than the ones I got my junior and senior year. :(

That's interesting how it varies by state. I also got to take one free through school. It was required to graduate and all juniors took it the same day during school.

I think you'll do great as you learn more in school. But study if you feel you need to! Some people need to study. Do what you feel is right.

I live in Ohio. And that was the price without having it sent to any schools. I did take the writing portion though which was around fifteen dollars.

    And no, I didn't study.

You had to pay $60? D: What state do you live in? In Illinois it's only $40 and that includes four schools to recieve the score.

Did you study for this one? Because looking at what you've done now and you're an incoming sophomore (right?) I think you'll do fine with the extra school years under your belt. I didn't study >.>

You're. Only going to be in 10th grade right? So you can always take it again, and since you did pretty well this time I'm sure you'll do really well next time..

Then I suggest you start at a community college and go from there.

And yes, you do have to pay. I think I paid around sixty dollars to take it.

Oh, but you can take the test as many times as you want right? If so then you should be okay.

It doesn't give you an actual grade like A, B, C, or D. Different colleges will accept different scores. If you wanted to go to an Ivy League school, you would need a composite score of around 32. Other colleges might take any score in the 20s.

ACT is a standardized test in the United States used for getting into college. Students generally take it their junior (3rd) year in high school. Some high schools require you to at least take it to graduate. You can't go to a school (generally, I think some junior colleges will accepted you just based on GPA) unless you submit a score for either the ACT or SAT. Depends on the school and which test they accept. The highest score on the ACT you can get in each section, but not writing, is a 36. 20's are average. Many schools accept them. I got a 27 and was accepted into 3 out of 4 schools I applied for.

Good job for your first time. I'm sure you'll improve with each year.
