I waited until this year, 20 yrs old, and it was REALLY intense, so I'd really advise you to wait a couple of years, because you'll be able to appreciate it better.
It's not called a trip for nothing, believe me. And if you still decide to do it, prepare for a bumpy ride.
One other thing, if you plan on doing it with the boy alone, don't forget about protection, acid is also known to be one of the most potent aphrodisiacs.
