I rely on dialogue much more than narrative too! It's just easier for me.

I don't really have trouble with tenses, but finding the right balance of description is something I always struggle with.

My biggest thing is actually progressing a scene; I rely much more on dialogue than narrative. Which isn't inherently a bad thing, and I do feel I'm pretty good with dialogue, but I'd rather be able to mix it up more.
