you can get good vintage background images here but I use weheartit, photobucket and google images too

I use photobucket and Weheartit for mine.

As for the banners, I think the second one is easier to read the title, but the background on the first one makes it more interesting.

I generally get backgrounds on deviantart.com. As for the banners, I like the first one!
