So chavs are the American equivalent of the dreaded 'wangsters' and 'wiggers'? Got it.

People are saying that chavs stereotype.
Well, aren't you all stereotyping by saying they all do the same thing?

chav's wear trackies and bling and playboy and say 'init' and 'you know what i mean' alot...and just sit, smoke, drink cider and beat up emo kids...

I don't know what I mean, my English friend uses townie and Chav all the time and I just thought they may be the same thing.

A chav is like your regualar no future, drinking, smoking, havung sex by the age of 12 type kid. Generally think they are better that everyone else... especially emo typoes.

What would you call a townie? I think Chav is a very exclusively English term really.

We don't have anything like it here. We don't have preps or jocks either. We have gangstas and stuff and I suppose our equivalent of a chav is...hmm.. I dont know...we really dont have one. Maybe those white dudes who walk around in basketball tshirts. Or are they just retards?
