I think I've heard of After Forever. They sound familiar. And I think I used to listen to Sirenia.

I only listen to a few songs by Cradle of Filth. Their music is an acquired taste.

And I haven't! I'll have to check that out.

I'm currently on YouTube, checking out bands with similar sounds... The current singer of Nightwish, Floor Jansen, used to be in a band called After Forever, I'm not sure how I feel about them yet as I've only heard one song so far, but they could be worth a listen? I'm getting into Sirenia, at least, some of the older stuff. So far I like "The Other Side" and "My Mind's Eye".

Ahh... Nymphetamine Fix. I haven't listened to that in ages. I don't really listen to Cradle of Filth much, but when you asked for dark bands, they popped into my head.

And snooping on the other bits of the conversation... Lzzy Hale is amazing... Have you checked out her song "Shatter Me" with violinist Lindsey Stirling?

Lzzy Hale's voice is amazing. My friends and I talk about her all the time. Her voice in Device's cover of Close My Eyes Forever is amazing.

The story has a spin on it. It's more female centered and the main character knows her life is right out of an Anne Rice novel and mentions it in the introduction (as well as making fun of another certain vampire series.) I'm going to post the first chapter or two and see how it goes. I actually lied in the blog, I only have the first chapter completely written, I stopped half way through the second chapter. ha.

I added Within Tempation; almost forgot about them too. And as much as I love We are the Fallen, only like one song fits. ha. And another band I forgot about, Cradle of Filth. How I forgot about them is beyond me, but then again there are only a handful of songs I actually like. Temptation is one of them. They're usually the band I used to blast when kids from the neighborhood would play like right outside my window. ha. Their song Lilith Immaculate is amazing as well as Nymphetamine Fix.

Her voice, along with Lzzy Hale's, are my favourite. It's so haunting. I still can't listen to My Immortal without crying! Within Temptation are a lot like Evanescence, too.

As long as you put your own spin on it and twist it up a bit, people won't think it's a rip off. :)

A few more bands along the same vein as Evanescence, Nightwish and Delain (love all of them) are Within Temptation, Xandria and We Are The Fallen (started by former Evanescence member Ben Moody). Hmm... Darker Bands, darker bands... Cradle of Filth, maybe? I love "Temptation" by them. That's about it, but it's worth a mention, I suppose.

Just added them. I can't believe I forgot about them originally. I'm even listening to Amy Lee's solo stuff too. Her voice is just heaven.

And thank you. I'm really proud of the Dean one. It's my favorite. Plus the Volbeat lyrics are fitting for him. I'm really debating on posting the story. I don't want people to think it's a rip off of Interview with a Vampire.

Have you tried Evanescence? That's the band that comes to mind when thinking of dark, gothic type music.

Also, I am very jealous of your skillz, haha, those banners are gorgeous! I definitely think you should post the vampire fiction, I'd definitely read it. Speaking of reading, I'm going to go and read that Dean fic!

Those banners are awesome, as for music evanescence, CKY... or if you type dark gothic music into youtube they have some pretty awesome soundtracks that might help out a bit!

Thanks you! Every since I got the hang of doing demon eyes, I've been on a kick with demon!dean stuff. lol. and as for Marilyn Manson the only song that seems to fit the theme of the story is Sweet Dreams. I have no idea why. Manson is usually my go to dark music guy!

I love the Dean banner! Oh my god it's good! I love the other banner too! Darker music... Have you tried anything by Marilyn Manson? His music is pretty dark.
