I think the idea of "banishing depression/dementors with a super happy memory" is kind of oversimplified, but the idea of kind of forcing yourself to remember what happiness is like and believing, against everything your mind is telling you, that happiness is still a thing you're capable of feeling is definitely a part of it.

But yeah. I tried to keep the blog tied to literature by talking about how literature helps us explain complex emotions to others and to ourselves, but I worry that was tied in pretty sloppily.

It is impossible for me to *not* second-guess my own writing, haha.

I love that you explained it using Harry Potter. It's exactly what it's like. I never really understood the whole, banishing them away with a super happy memory, but it does work, it's just hard. I think the blog post is a bit personal, but that's okay. I think it moved along just fine.

And I know what you mean when it comes to writing. Sometimes I just force it all out and then I'm like, "this is crap" and I delete it all.

    I wish you luck!
