It happens to us all eventually. Of course, that's no comfort when it does, and there is a reason grief is such a challenging part of life. I always wrote off death as something that didn't affect me until the first time it hit close to home and I had to deal with it myself. Once you can accept the change, you can move on.

I'm so so sorry. that's awful, especially now when it's christmas and everyone is supposed to be happy :(

Death is part of the reason I'm not fond of Christmas. People like to put on thier happy face and pretend that NOTHING can go wrong... But when someone dies, it's the worst way they can be proved wrong. I'm really sorry.

dont apologize, you have nothing to be sorry for. sometimes you just need to say something, and thats what journals are for.

im soo sorry about your losses. i've had people who died, but they're like "a friend of a friend" kind of people, so (i hate to say it) it wasnt too much of a loss. i wish i knew what to say, to help you and stuff, but ive never been in that situation, not yet anyway... your step dad will come around eventually, though. he's just mourning.

I so sorry. It's really odd that both deaths happened in such quick succession.
