Lamb by Chistopher Moore its the Gospel according to Christ's childhood pal, Biff. It's nothing like the Gospel. It pretty much takes you through the journeys of Jesus (Joshua in the story) as a child and his becoming the Messiah. I strongly recommend it!

The Passion of Artemisia by Susan Vreeland. It's a really inspiring novel. It's based on the life of a Roman painter, Artemisia Gentileschi. It takes place in the 1600's. Artemisia gets raped and it ruins her reputation. The book is about her love of painting and how she overcomes her past to live her dream. It's quite good.

I reccomend the book Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black.
For me, explaining it is kind of complicating, so try looking it up on Google. =]
(There are also two other books that correspond with this book. Valiant: A Modern Faerie Tale and Ironside: A Modern Faerie Tale)

Twilight (Stephanie Meyer)--a vampire (Edward) falls in love with a human (Bella) despite all of the odds that they have to overcome. This book is well written and it's REALLY addicting.
