If you don't want spend money to buy a new DVD player, like what everyone suggested - watch it on your computer ...

I have the same problem with DVD's from America.

So I bought a universal DVD player. The newer DVD players tend to be universal now, anyway. That, or you can watch it on your computer...

You might need a universal DVD player because I understand that there are different regions for different countries when it comes to DVDs and CDs. Perhaps you could watch it on your computer...?
