And You Too Can Become President!

On November 4th, 2008 at 10:59:55 pm I cried. I cried real tears. Barack Hussein Obama was elected president. I cried because I was alive.
Obama is the first bi-racial president. He can also be considered one of the younger presidents. His election is remarkable. It has been said there is now meaning behind "you can be anything you want, even the president."

But I want too add something.

Even if John McCain won, that saying would still have meaning. Sarah Palin would of became the first women vice president. That being said, either elect would of made history.

With Sarah Palin as a vice president choice and Hilary Clinton so close to becoming a choice for president, I can tell my niece, or when I am older, my daughter:

YOU CAN BE THE PRESIDENT WHEN YOU GROW UP!

We gained independence from England. We freed the slaves and reunited the country. We gained women's suffrage and stopped segregation. We won WWII and landed on the moon.

But I wasn't born yet.

As of last Tuesday, I have never been so happy, and proud too, to be an American in my life.

And remember, even you can be the president.
