About a month ago, my dad bought two Tiger Barb fish. One a female, one a male. Then about two weeks after we got them, we found out the female was pregnant. Of course, I was excited. It meant tiny little fishies swimming around my small tank.
My dad was planning on breeding them, and he got his wish. But, we thought that we needed a spawning mop for the fish to lay her eggs. So, we didn't think anything of it. We were planning on buying some yarn, and making our own spawning mop, but we hadn't gotten it yet.
Five days later, the female died. She was floating around the tank lifeless, moving around because of the filter pouring fresh oxygen water. We thought the babies died as well.
Now, today. My sister yelled into the room, telling me that we had babies in our tank. She said, "Our fish had babies! Only three survived!"
And when I checked, we did! I'm so happy!
Oh. And my dad also bought another mate for the male, so he isn't has lonely. Now I have five Tiger Barbs!
:D I'm just so happy now, that I have baby fish.
