Therapeutic Writing

Have you ever written a story and felt that it somehow made you feel better? That whatever stress you were under has been kept at bay for the present? I feel like that all the time and I guess a lot of people have. I know someone who wrote a piece and said she felt better after writing it. It's almost refreshing to vent out onto paper (or onto the computer) and not really care if anyone is listening. Actually, you might care but there is always someone out there who can relate to an idea in it, and there will always be that person who can relate no matter how much you feel that you're alone.

I should get paid for giving out advice like writing down something, anything or just talking to relieve stress. Maybe I should be a therapist and sit on a big comfy chair asking my patient, "And how does that make you feel?"

Sorry if I'm not making much sense with this journal. It's more of an experimental thing, seeing as I've never written one and I barely ever write in a diary. It's just not as satisfying as writing that story that says exactly what you want it to and masking your feelings with the fact that, in writing, anything goes.
