Help on photofiltre...?

Hey, banner wizards!!! I need your help. I downloaded photofiltre, and now I need help making amazing banners...
how do you blend totally different pictures together, and make them still look good?
andd...
how do you make cool brush effects, and stuff like that?
ANYTHING! just comment me...

also, if there's anything else I should use, (without downloading, I just got my computer fixed. I downloaded to many viruses and it just crashed...) please tell me!
