An airplane question, and NaNo as well.

A very easy question that probably anyone can answer,except me obviously.

While writing chapter seven of my NaNoWriMo story, I got stuck when I realized that I know nothing about airplanes, airports, or anything involving that. I've never been on a plane and have only been to an airport once when I was eleven, so I need help with the terminology.

So here is my question:
When someone is getting off of a plane, where do people go to meet them? Is it called a terminal?

Lol please answer since all google is giving me is how to find love at an airport. :/
