Feeling Better And Working My Butt Off.

It's been a few days since the death of my grandmother, and I have a slight feeling of closure. Which feels good, and is lightening my mood. I've been using smiley faces in text messages, and I've been laughing a lot lately. Which, like I said, is good.
So, I have my second Honors Book to finish... and I'm not even near the middle of the book! And It's due at the end of this month. It's called, "Death Of A Salesman". It's a playbook, which I enjoy plays, but, seeing as I just can't reading this book this month, I can't seem too finish it. Well, that's where Spark Notes come in, right? I think so! It's not like it isn't a good book... I just can't seem to focus on it. Did I mention I have a short attention span? I don't think so... so you get where I'm heading.
Alright, college. BIG word. I think I've been wanting to go to IUP. Seeing as that is a nice place, far from my parents, but not too far in case of emergencies. I know a lot of kids from IUP, mostly the women's hockey team. But it close. And hockey is the reason I want to go there. I think they only give out one or two scholarships for hockey. And I want one. Correction- NEED one. I don't have enough money for college! With tuition rising up even more, and expenses that comes along... It looks *gulp*... frightening.
That's where my parents kick in. Joy. They are kicking my butt harder than ever to get noticed by IUP. I mean, one or two scholarships a YEAR!? One of their exact quotes are: " We are kicking your ass into gear next season! And if you do get this scholarship, your gonna play! All four years, got it?!" No arguing with that. Playing hockey for free? That's heaven for me. And not paying for college is even better.
So now I know what to do. Once school gets started next month, along with hockey season for me, I'm playing harder. I will train harder, exercise more than usual, and ( add another gulping noise)... keep learning to hit my opponents. I'm not exactly a hitter, but my previous coach Jean (He played for the Johnstown Chiefs), had us hitting. And well... not my strong suit. I've earned a pretty good amount of bruises.
So there you have it. Work, reading, work, practice, study... did I mention work?
