my hatred for Halloween

Ok, maybe I am getting old or senile or whatever but I don't like Halloween. You can judge me if you want but I wont care!

Halloween for me used to be blood and guts and people dressed up as vampires, witches, zombies, ghosts etc. Now in Australia it has turned into some weird, messed up version of Disney and people dressing up as peacocks, lil Wayne, a raccoon, a sailor, cavemen, little red riding hood, Minnie mouse and a mechanic. However, my personal favourites are where girls find the smallest/shortest dress they can find, add sky high heels, paint on a black nose and 3 lines on both cheeks, add ears of some sort and call themselves a cat. I mean seriously - you didn't even add a tail -.-

So yeah, I don't know if I am getting old or if it is different in the countries but what happened to the Halloween that I used to know?

Another point about Halloween - has anyone heard of stranger danger or paedophiles?
I see kids that are aged 5-8 roaming the streets with no parent or anyone looking out for them and there isn't many people who live around my area so who is going to know until a few hours later if kids go missing.

Maybe I am missing the spirit/fun of Halloween but this is just my take on it. Plus, I can sit at home and eat chocolate and lollies any day of the year!!
