Ex's friend wan't to be my special friend... *sigh*

So a friends of my ex-boyfriend (that i'm also kinda friends with) is (i feel like) trying to subtly ask me out. The problem is I don't really know how I feel about that, so i keep my conversation neutral. I feel like i might be able to have a good time with this person, but I'm afraid that it would feel weird to me dating of of my ex's good friends. He's really nice and we get along, but I dunno. I feel like my ex friggen screwed me up for dating other people. -_- And so far not many other people have been interested in me. Though, I haven't gotten out much, so this could be the reason. I also don't think that this guy was the person who gave me that rose on Valentines day, so I kinda want to find out who that is before I decide what I wanna do with this other guy. Goodness. Dating is complicated.
