Trying to get out of the romance rut.

Just a WIP I started... I'm not sure if I'll keep it or scrap it. I was trying to get the general tone and idea down. I didn't really mess around with vocab. or anything. Constructive criticism/feedback is always welcomed.

I’m tired
Tired of being alone
Family holds no warmth,
No safety nor comfort.
Just the bars of this cage
Formed from all their laughs
The smiles that never reach my grasp.

Seeking solace in these tear-stained pillows
And rusted blades coated in fear.
“Go away,”
Their words inject their poison.
“We don’t need you…”
Just a nuisance to them all
Waiting on the edge, ready for the fall.

“Go away.”
You’re just useless.
“Go away.”
