Waffles

I always used to like waffles. So fluffy, light and sweet. Although I'd only ever eaten them once or twice the two times I've been overseas, they were still considered heavenly and delightful.

Well we bought a waffle maker.

You know how waffles look like bricks? Well the ones we made tasted like them too. Heavy, lifeless, salty bricks. Is that what you get for following the recipe ? Bricky waffles!! Where I live, in Australia, waffles don't seem to be readily available. We had to search hard enough for a waffle maker. Seriously.

Anyone know any good waffle recipes? Has anyone ever failed drastically at making waffles? Are waffles and waffle makers and molds and such available where you are? What about toaster waffles, what are they like?
