Canadian Penny

Canada has finally taken action on getting rid of this costly little coin. For years it's cost about twice as much to make, then it's worth. The stopped making the penny last year, and tomorrow you can not get any from the bank.. however you can bring them in no problem.

Now.. I have a liking to coins.. I have no idea why. So I went 2 times and got $15 worth of pennies. So $30, and got my dad to pick up $20 worth if pennies.

I have gone through the $30 and found some nice old pennies. Also 3 dimes, and 1 badly tarnished 1970 American dime

I was looking for pennies with the first appearance of Queen Elizabeth II and King George. I found quite a bit. Found a 1932. 1953-1964 was the first picture of the Queen, and before that was King George.

There have been 4 pictures of Queen Elizabeth on the coins. If I'm correct in my findings..

1. 1953-1964
2. 1965-1989
3. 1990-2002
4. 2003-Still on all coins

I don't know if anyone else likes just the plain normal circulation coins like I do, but I still think they are interesting.
