Mrs. Acton, You Will Be Missed

Let me express something about my school, before I get right down to the point. Tapestry is not just a High School for kids who don't have the money or the smarts to get into a better one. It's just a school. Until you get in, that is. As soon as you're in, whether it be from the very beginning, close to the end, or somewhere in between, you become a part of a family that's difficult to tear apart. And at Tapestry, there's a family within your family. A class called Crew, where, since freshman year, a small group of students get together, with a teacher, designated as the 'Crew Parent' and we are the Crew babies. We help each other out through rough times.

Recently, Tapestry has come upon an incredibly rough time. Two of our three beloved Spanish teachers, Mrs. Nowakowski, and Mrs. Acton, have fallen. Mrs. Nowa, the lovable, bubbly 10th grade teacher has contracted a particularly severe case of pneumonia. We wish her well, and hope for the best.

Mrs. Acton, the heart of the Spanish Department at Tapestry, is a much more sorrowful story to tell. While on a trip to Costa Rica, an exchange program that Tapestry has done for years, Mrs. Acton got sick and passed out. Nobody knew what to do or even what was wrong. Our beloved Mrs. Acton died in Costa Rica yesterday, and the Tapestry Community will always be different now, because of it.

However, I'm positive that this great tragedy will only serve to pull our Community closer together.

Rest In Peace, Senora Acton. You're gone, but never forgotten, forever missed, and always in our hearts.
