Telesa - The Covenant Keeper

So you guys need to read this book. It's by a Samoan writer, based on a Samoan legend and I think that it is just absolutely marvelous. The best part about it is that it uses Pacific characters and Leila emphasizes on what it's like being a large boned, yet not large enough brown girl. I love her plot and while a lot of people may call it a brown skinned Polynesian see through of twilight, I think it's actually much more. See, Leila isn't some sort of helpless human here - she's much more. And she's powerful and strong. And Daniel, the love interest, is just omfg stop being so virtually hot, okay?

I love it and I love the conflict love twists in the story. I love how she uses nature to twist an ordinary thing into extra ordinary and I love that it uses things we take for granted, everyday normal things, in the story.

You really need to read this book. Seriously. It's just that good.

Oh and of course, imagining hot Samoa guys running around half naked makes it just all the much better too.
