Am I really doing this? (opinions if you got some to spare)

So the summer is finally here for me as the last official day of my tenth grade year was yesterday, hooray! I have decided to challenge myself by writing a novel. Well maybe not like a full fledged one, but a story of at least 25,000 to 30,000 words, which will be the longest thing I have ever written in my entire life. So far I have one plot that I would like to work with, but who know's maybe something else will pop up.

Would you read this?

Plot one: It's the end of her senior year and the main character has been invited to a party at a lake house that everyone will be at. Her high school days hadn't been very significant as she was kind of a wallflower type character so she decides to go and have one last hurrah before never seeing all these people again. There are drugs and alcohol involved at this party and long story short she ends up being the only person to witness an accidental drowning. Or was it?

I'll add more of course and maybe switch a few things around, but that's the basis of the story.
